Hi,

I have some text objects. They must have the same material because changing it’s color must change the color of all text objects. I want to fade the text objects in/out individually at different points in time. I can’t animate the material’s alpha value because it makes all text objects fade in/out at the same time. What is the solution?

Do you use BI or Cycles?

Try using material nodes. Create a base material you use a the base for all other materials. You can then adjust the transparency individually but if you change the settings of the base material it should affect all the other materials that use that in their node system

Material nodes are the solution. That was a great hint. Thank you Richard!
