Multiple Textfields - Texturing, Animation, general Editing techniques

Dear Artists,

after getting involved in Blender for some time, I recently came to a point where I have to colour multiple textfields now in the same colour.

After that I ´d like to dissolve fade about 100s of those into a group of a set of blue textfields and vice versa.

I think the main question is about editing multiple textfields with materials and animation. The way of selecting several objects by Border Selecting does not seem to work as known from other software.

In terms of my experience: Is it a good way to work with EMPTYs so far?

Thank you for your support and anybody involved into this great software, which obviously takes I while to dig in.

Best regards

after getting involved in Blender for some time, I recently came to a point where I have to colour multiple textfields now in the same colour.

Convert text fields to a mesh (Alt+C) and join them to one object (Ctrl+J). One material will then affect all the text
or
Add a material to one text. Select all the other text objects the shift select the object with the material so it is tha active object (last object selected), then link the material of the active object to all the other selected objects (Ctrl+L / materials). All the text will then use the same material. If you change this material, all the text objects will show this change.

Thx Richard,

how can I seperate the Textfields back after having joined them?

I found two differences:
If I join the Textfields they are no longer textfields and I can´t seperate them too easy, right?
In my case, the Link Material method is more appropriate, because the textfields keep their properties as such.

is it possible to view animated textfields (Transparency, Movement) in the 3D VIEW when starting the automation in the timeline?

Thx
