Does anyone have a build of Blender for OS X (64 bit PPC) with multithreading for smoke simulation? It’s soooo sllooooooow.
Go to graphicall and search for a build that hats OpenMP enabled…
I did… but OpenMP does not seem to work with smoke. My CPUs are about 80% idle when simulating/baking.
Hmm weird - it works perfectly for me on both linux and mac…
That is weird. What build are you using on mac?
Update: hmmm… it seems to be working now that I’m doing a higher res simulation.
