Museum (my first project)

This is a museum. I’m making it for a project at school.

Museum

Because this is a ‘working in progress’ model, please tell me what I really need to change / ad / etc.

You model is very good! I’m always impressed with a good architectual render  The only suggestion I have is to make the scene brighter by perhaps adding a hemi light or a few spots shining down on the scene or slighly askew. The way its lit now it looks like there’s a tornado coming! Your sky is intimidating! Save that lighting scheme for a storm scene though because it works well!

I agree with Desoto-11. lightning could be brighter.

The building looks nicely modelled but it’s hard to judge everything. Could you maybe post a closer view or some detail shots?

Keep up the nice work

May I ask about the interior? How far along is that compared to the rest of the model? Or is this strictly an exterior project? How about adding some landscaping? AND…don’t forget to make it handicap accessible.

Mainly its exterior only, but I want to consentrate on the interior as whell.
Landscaping, yes…there need to be some other buildings around and some plants.

But the purpose of it is too let people see what kind op building it is, how it looks

 I thought about wheelchairs and less mobile people: there is an elivator, whell nog in my Blender file (not yet) but in my CAD drawings.

TNX I whill keep updating the file, tnx for replies

Wow! Very good! It looks like you put a lot of work into it! It seems as though you got OSA to work just fine on the edges behind your ZTransp glass…some other people have been having trouble with it in specific cases. What version of blender are you using?

Also, I’m not sure what the layout of the building is inside or anything like that, but consider adding skylights to the roof to match the style of the entryway you created (which looks excellent btw). That would let a lot more light into a space like that, especially because your roof is pitched very minimally. If its in a cold climate however, you may want to forego that, as snow could collapse a glass ceiling!! lol. If you don’t add anything up there, I’d at least change the color from green to something else, preferably something less saturated.

whell it took me a lot of time because I never used blender before

The roof is green because I designed it so that there is grass on it. I still trying to get the fiber script to work in this blender file  (it almost work)

There must not get to much direct sunlight in too the building because then you can ‘see’ the things that are in the museum

blender 2.26

I’m working on the lights right now

There must not get to much direct sunlight in too the building because then you can ‘see’ the things that are in the museum

Do you mean that if there’s too much direct sunlight the displays would be damaged? Or visible from outside?

Than there’s too much direct sunlight the displays would be damaged.

(i forgot the 't at can…can’t ;))

So do you mean that you’re worried about sun damage, or that the light inside would reflect off of the display cases and make it hard to see into them? I’m sorry I’m having trouble understanding! I’m a little thick sometimes

the 2nd

Ahh ok that makes sense. The lighting inside museums is always special. Especially art museums. What type of museum is this supposed to be?

archeological museum:

They always have those glass ‘closets’ (don’t know the English word for it)
vitrines?

And what about the Blender file itself: what can I do do let it look more ‘finished’ aside from the lightning? Not that I don’t want to talk about the design ;D because it need some serious tweaking, espescially the gabs around the building.

I think you’re referring to the entrance, and I’d call it either a lobby, or am atrium maybe. To make it looked more finished I’d stripes in the parking area for parking spaces (even though thats not important), and maybe a detail like an air cooling unit or a vent of some kind on the roof. It is a museum after all and they do have a lot of equipment to keep the atmostphere just right inside.

whell I’m not going to work on this project anymore.

I had a presentation of my work, cad drawings and this blender file.

The where impressed and liked the design.

I’m now going to work on other buildings, hope that I have some more time and skills
