Hey, I’ve been having this idea at the back of my brain for a while. Has anyone everheard the song "Lonely Day"by System of a Down? I was thinking that I could make a short video for it just to see how it would come out. I was thinking about focusing on this guy who wakes up and goes through his normal morning activities. (brushing teeth, shaving, etc.), but he is depressed, so everything he touches goes ablaze and crumbles. Bottom line, Pretty flames.
My only concern is the actual guy himself. A full blown human is not easy to model and animate. 
Anyone got any tips? Criticisms? Pie?
make it toon like instead of aiming fo realism go with Elephant Dreams Style its not very realistic but it conveys they realism effect…
Like the idea but what’s the point of building your anim on the tune of a band as big as System? You won’t be able to use it. Why not make a video for a local metal band instead?
yeah, im not going for photorealism, that would be suicide for me. :(I just don’t want mickey mouse toon. Elephants dream is definately thestyle im aiming for. of course, i’m not gonna end up like that, but it’s worth a shot.
:o yeah, um, i would, but the song goes perfectly with what i had in mind… The idea was formed before I ever heard the song, but when i heard it, everything seemed to fit. the timing of the song is perfect for what I have in mind. also, this is more of something to show off to my friends. i’m not looking to publish this.
DAMN!!! i just saw the system music video. They have fire!!!. it still isn’t what i had exactly, but it’s close. grrr. oh, i have a textureless render of a shot that i’m going to include at the end. ignore the simple design, but tell me if it works as a collapsing building. I just want to know if it collapses well.
