My character is changing its location, position, and size?

I am animating my character in blender, and for some reason, when i try to click locrotscale (in object mode mind you), my character changes its location on the graph, and its size as well. this happens when i click location, rotation, and scaling as well. can somebody please identify what is the matter with it? I’m trying to upload my file, but I’m having trouble. Suggestions?

Thanks for the help! We are stumped on this one. We are in a high school class.

The mesh that is being deformed by the armature has an object scaling.
Before doing anything, select the mesh and apply the scaling {and rotation and location too is a good idea}.
Now the armature will correctly deform the mesh.

Thank you for the reply! We still don’t understand how to fix this. Do we go to the object buttons and reset there? In Edit Mode? Object mode? I did that and it fixed the scale, but not the location when the armature has keys applied in object mode. Thanks again! This student is highly motivated and excited, it is unfortunate that a few bad clicks has held his project up.

You will need to be in object mode.
Select the mesh {the purple plane object}
Use the menu bar to select the object menu.
Then the ‘Apply’ item.
This offers a submenu with the choices to apply the location/rotation and scale.
Do this 3 times, choosing location/rotation/scale each time.
Now you have cleared these from the mesh.
