I don’t post on here very often, but I thought I would see if I could get some input on a film I am working on. It’s called “Jack in the Bottle” and it is a surrealist film about an alcoholic on halloween. Anyway, I’ve gotten several scenes put together, and I thought I would post a link to see if anyone would give me some criticism. I want this film to be really good, so please don’t be afraid to be honest about it. I promise you won’t hurt my feelings!
If you’re interested in seeing it, go to http://claysfilms.tripod.comand scroll down to the “Jack in the Bottle” picture. Below it is a link to a .wmv file of the movie so far.
Oh, and if you want to see “Diary of Kenobi” (a film I completed about a year ago) feel free to watch it, too!!
That’s pretty good! I can’t tell if your character animation has gotten better or not since your last movie, since the guy doesn’t move much, that last shot of his face is really great though. Everything else looks pretty good too.
Sweeter than sweet
I’d like to see more work done on the scrolly text though. It don’t look authentic enough bit too spaced out.
Can’t wait to see the finished article.
You gonna make a High res version with a higher frame rate too?
Thanks for the crit about the text in the opening. Now that you say that I think I see your point.
I’ll continue to post links to this film as it comes closer to completion. Oh, and yes there will be a high res version online when it is completed. I’m creating it at 640 by 480, 30 fps, and then burning it to SVCD.
640 X 480 [!]
Yeah that would be great for a show reel but I’d like to download it in less than an hour or so; not a day or so.
Here is my request. [>]
Could you make a 640 X 288 widescreen version 23 FPS divx version
I saw a Warcraft 3 trailer encoded like this and the Quality was super.
Oh, yes. When I said 640 by 480, I meant that I’m making the movie at that resolution. I’m planning on entering several film fests with this thing when it’s done, so it needs to be high res enough to export to video and get good quality. But as far as a final web version goes, I’d be happy to make a good quality divx once the film’s done.
This ei interesting project you are doing here. I saw the work in progress and I must say it seemed very promising.
This bit is not in all means a crit, but considereing your style it would be interesting to see this movie animated with cell shading tehcnique. I’ve gotten very keen on that particular rendering tehchnique since I saw Zelda windwaker… Too bad I cannot get Tuhopuu working myself.
