My First Character

Im new to 3D graphics, this little fellow is made Poly by Poly (ive tryed in the past 3d Studio Max ver 3 and up to 7 …give me “head bounching on my brayins” … to hard to understand for me never rendered something cool …like this fellow)

So for an complete newby to 3D (not so newby to Sculpture …but is more easy in real life  than in 3d  …)

One thing that bothers me is UV-Unwraping (hard for me) i just wanna paint on the object like in real life ? any clue ? like BodyPaint does (sorry is just an exmaple)

Dont like the proportions of this fellow here but just posted for some crits and review took me 2 days so don`t be harsh on me !

It whas easy to model the face hardest thing i think is the hand and the foot…
Ive found that someone in here posted a woman body but with some breast not so real..woh man check my little fellow even if it is a Cartoon one has same structure for pectorals like real man so if you modify the loop you can get some breasts :))))
Is nice to play with an base model and make some fryends from it (even in real life we have some bones just different proportions like…strech…not strech… )

This fellow will look like a rapper made a schetch or ill call it Blue Print (im not so good at drawing the 3d version look nice the 2d huh… is just a schetch  )
Made a Mic BluePrint like so… will be on da` Mic

Just a start for a little project

Im a singer so this fellow will sing or not :) I dont like to be on the camera

I have more than basic on animation field (made some drawing in the past frame by frame but then got in the music so… get less on graphic more on song writin`… errr… but i loved to use my hands not the pecil ( you get the sarcasm) )

This tread will be the place where I put my project until the final render  so drop in time to time

That’s pretty good for a first character model. I like the face and hands, but the torso - especially around the stomach area - seems a little flat.

You can paint directly on the model using vertex paint mode. I would advise going to graphicall.org and download the most recent CVS build of Blender. This version has many new updates (like sculpt mode, similar to Zbrush) and some updates to the vertex painting I think. You are limited brush-wise for vertex painting, but its better than trying to unwrap IMHO.

May I ask a question please??
If I export the model into .ac type the texture will gone…
what happened???

Actually, the CVS has a really fast REGULAR paint mode, where–once you’ve unwrapped the guy (there are good tutorials I can give you if you’re stuck) you can just paint onto him in the 3d view. There’s a less functional version of that in 2.42, but as well as being less useful, it’s also slower, the CVS version is blazingly fast and supports tablets amoung other stuff.

What is this regular paint mode? sorry, not trying to hijack this thread
Using vertex paint mode you paint right in the 3D view. This isn’t what you mean?
You don’t even have to unwrap it using this method, you just start with a plain black image and paint right onto the model.

I like it stilizet wanna do it more real but … i like it like that for the start!

Hope you like it to

Yeah, but it’s limited to how many vertices you have. What I’m talking about is Texture Paint mode in the CVS that lets you paint onto a UV mapped image of any resolution. Like a deep paint thing.

hmm i thinck the soket from the base is to big i must re workit  it is shock mounted!

The microphone is good, but if you want it to be a render, not a real-time model, I’d give it a few more polygons. :stuck_out_tongue: Some parts look a little low-poly. Also, you might want to work on the materials. I’ve never seen an all-chrome microphone.

Also, this is more general advice. :stuck_out_tongue: See the blue background, that’s the blue default that came with blender, right? My advice is ‘change the colour,’ there’s nothing wrong with the colour itself, but people on this forum have seen it so much that it kinda rankles with them.

Another go

Made the eyes

About vertex paint ?
hmm

I`ll search on blender3d.org some videos mrrr…

what about the eyes?
