My first original blends

I’ve been watching and learning for quite a while now. I’ve dabbled in retexturing existing meshes (Enterprise-A on Start Trek Blender’s site). I’m now starting to create my own meshes from scratch.

…yes, but the mesh is nice and clean. It is becoming a wheel rim, isn’t it?

Yes, it will be. Right now, it’s more of a “Proof-of-Concept” kinda project. Getting the hang of modeling with SubSurfs, getting all the normals aligned… etc etc ad nausium…

The wheel part of the rim has no thickness to it, so that’s what I’m going to start working on next. I’m also following Matthias Puski’s Car Modelling Tutorial, so this will end up finding a home there.

I’ll most likely post some more pics as I progress, but I wanted to throw this out there for public review and/or ridicule…
