My GPU Has a Compute Capability of 2.1 but Blender is Saying it Has A CC of 1.1

Hello guys,

After finding out how slow CPU rendering is I decided to enable CUDA GPU rendering. My GT 610 - although old and very low end - has a compute capability of 2.1, and so should work with CUDA. However, blender is finding it to be 1.1.

Whenever I try to render something, it doesn’t do anything and the terminal outputs.

“CUDA device supported only with compute capability 2.0 or up, found 1.1”

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have tried looking into this problem, but I can’t seem to find anything.

I’m running Debian 8 Jessie and Nvidia Driver 340.96.
