My objects are stuck as an overlay

I imported some AutoCAD files into Blender (no issues there)

My objects contain a large mesh and some curves. the large mesh renders fine, but my curves (strings) are stuck as an “overlay”, and they wont render out:

When I turn off overlays my curves disappear… this is the best idea I have for why they wont render for me.

Curves, by default have no geometry. To get the result you want, go the the object data tab in your properties window and find the geometry drop down menu. Scroll down and you will see bevel thickness. Turn that up to anything above 0 and you will see them render.
