I’ve rigged a fairly simple character to animate with 1 Armature of 49 bones. I’ve set the framerate to 24 frames a Sec. I press Alt-A and the animation doesn’t run as quickly as It would such as when I animated a ball with only two bones.
I’ve even updated the video card driver and still it crawls. I’ve changed the screen resolution and color setting and still it crawls. I know the solution might simply be to get a faster computer but I’m working with Windows XP on a 2002 Gateway that I bought brand new last summer. Does any one have any suggestions?
You might want to know that my video card is a GeForce 4 MX 440
Hey, you should expect a slow down if you have a complex model!
the framerayte is the framerate of the produced AVI, NOT of the ALT A animation
my last animation (35 armatures of 16 bones each ) did about 1 frame every 10 seconds on a duam Athlon MP
and, no, the Graphic card does not help here, you have to compute armatures with your CPU
Stefano
try making second model built of primitives and parent them to the armature using bones, not an armature - then you’ll have smooth preview
Thanks for the tips. What I did, meantime, is move the armature to a different layer and the bones, by themselves, ran fine.
