my second car model

hi…today i finished of making two cars… this is my second try in making of cars but it didnt look like how i hoped so i used photoshop for making it look better by adding some effects and also i made the grills with photoshop becouse it was hard to make in blender ((hope this isnt a cheat:o))
in this one i treid to make it like need for speed carbon but i couldnt becouse the smoke came out more than i expected :

in this one i tried to make it look like the test drive unlimited cars dont know if it looks good that much :

Nice models, well done. The first car (yellow one) needs the lighting working on. You can’t really see some of the car features and it doesn’t look real with the lightning all shining more brightly on different spots.
The second car (black one) is also a really great model. I like the way you’ve lit up the headlights realistcly.
Not much else i can think of really, well done.

yeah the first one i have used dodge tool for making the shines and the second one too made that head light lights in photoshop

I hope you don’t mind if I give some constructive criticism. First of all, very nice modeling! I do however agree with what Artharos said, and I also feel that the photoshoped grills don’t look quite right. They may be a bit difficult to make in blender; but even if you don’t model them, i think it would look better if they were at least applied as a texture (that way the perspective etc. would be correct). My only crit as far as the actual modeling goes would be that the doors look unusually long - particularly noticeable in the second image. Then again maybe I’m just being picky lol.
Apart from that, you’ve got some really nice images! Most of the post-pro is well done - with the exception that I feel that the highlights on the front of the first car are a bit random and splotchy. I particularly like the smoke effects, and I have to congratulate you on a convincing and successful use of photoshop’s lens flair filter! Normally I have a pet hate against that filter, but you’ve managed to pull it off.
That’s about all I have to add. Once again, nice work.

thanks…about the doors i think the blue print i used was the problem of that long doors:mad: becouse the lines wich seperates the door from the body didnt exist :

so here is what i did… i made the door till the tyres :

By the looks of the image the doors finish in line with the back of the driver’s seat.

You can texture the grille really easy, I’d recommend learning textures as soon as possible, as they can really save you time and effort. Many modelers don’t even bother texturing their models, Instead opting use more and more triangles to create the extra detail, but I think that’s bad. Even high poly models should be set for UV mapping to be considered finished.

otherwise the models look good, using reference drawings is a really good way to start out.

thanks ill take your advise about backseat line for the door if it wasnt given and about the textures i dont have textures for vehicles they are hard to find and i hate drawing…maybe if you could tell me some resource where i can find them will be apreceated.

The door line is shown in both the top and side views. If you look closely, things on the inside (that are not behind glass) are drawn with dashes. The solid line behind the front seat in the side view is not the back of the front seat, it’s the door line. It really helps having a few photo references to interpret what you see in the blueprints.

The door handle should be in line with the front seat. There is a little triangular window behind the door window.

awww…i thought it was the frontseat back lol…any way thanks i will try modelling a car again but this time Ford shelby gt5

i like the headlights! they seem realistic to me… how’d you do it?

Yes, it’s best to move on to the next project rather than getting stuck on trying to “perfect” one of your early models. At this stage you are learning so much that it’s best to take what You’ve learned and put it in a new model.

well the head light models were easy …two cube, two tube, two sphere, two plane …

here is the solid view (messy work)

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s260/hilium/headlight.jpg
the first plane was transparent and the second one was behind the tubes and the bulbs and it was a mirror

The second car looks completely awesome! Love the shine. But then the placement of the door handle way back there makes the entire side panel a single door, thus the car looks kinda short.

the car actually does have a single door …and i like short cars it can fit any where in traffic rushes .

sry i actually meant to say what Orinoco was saying about the handle making it a really wide door, forgot to check the previous posts. =X But the car really look good, and I would think you would do a Lamborghini good. =)

yeah it does but any ways i was working on the door today and when i was close to finish it crashed …this mad me go nuts and delete the .blend file LOLL… Delayed
