This looks very painterly. Is this painted, or do you just have very soft painterly textures on a 3D model?

As far as improving it: seems to lack a focal point, like a figure or a very individual tree or building. The tree trunks seem a bit too dark for the look of the scene. The flowers are too similar to one another.
