My Sphere #1

Hi All,
I’d like show you my animated procedural material, Blender 2.8, Eevee and nodes. Nothing big, just first random steps. Eevee is awesome!

But first I’d like to say thank you to:

Whoa! Well done! Is the texture animation all done with scripted expressions? I’m interested in seeing your node setup. I watched that hex field tutorial a few weeks ago but didn’t actually follow along at all :stuck_out_tongue: so it’s cool to see what someone else came up with after watching it.


without scripting
all about subdivided icosphere (not ideal sphere) - with very small difference between distance origin to vertices vs origin to faces; very dense spherical wave gradient, multiplied and connected to scale of noise texture.
plus some rotation, color ramp and camera animation.
