Damn, it’s amazing Maqs, you are very talented.
I really like the greenish color, and your use of compositing nodes is a plus.
So many attention to details makes your work stands out.

I can’t access to your portfolio maqs.xt.pl, do you have another website?

Thank You for nice comment bupla.
You can check m3maqs.deviantart.com, but there is nothing more than i post here on ba.org, maqs.xt.pl is closed i should made new portfolio or blog, but i must first buy space on server or just find good free one.

Hey, maqs, could I borrow your head model and textures? I’d like to try something on it.

its so awsome its not even awsome.
its what awsomeness are for!

Wow, that is incredible! The latest render you have posted is off the chart! Beautiful work, Maqs, beautiful work.
coughgallerycough

wow really realistic

this is EXCELLENT
***** stars from me.
I would like to see a few of these in wireframe.
Just interested

Awesome, awesome stuff there. Beautifully eery (I keep expecting the eyes to jump open)

Pardon my ignorance, but which order are those textures placed? Is the red/orange one meant to be the ‘bottom’ layer?

Is there a blend of the material anywhere [without the texture maps]?

Bliz, first tex on the picture is for subdermal layer, second one for epidermal and last one i use for specular, You can download shader from this thread.
http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=121552

I also use overall, normal map textures and for new render that i dont post yet i create map for gloss mirror.

GodOfBigThings, i try post screens from blender’s view port later.

ZombieJohn, Sorry mate, i want finish this one and put to the finished works, but i uploaded some time ago different model, You can find it here ’ Skin with multilayered sss experiments

Than You for comments.

Awesome work there, I was playing with your SSS shader today, and it’s very impressive. Can I ask about your workflow with respect to getting your sculpts out of zbrush and generating normal/bump maps? I’m trying to come understand the proces myself at the moment and you clearly know what you’re up to. Cheers.
Ben

Zbrush is not really good for creating normal maps and other stuff, but best method to bake nm inside zb is z-mapper (Ctrl+G) just run that plug-in, click ‘Open Configuration’ (O) and choose ‘3DS Max7_TangentSpace_BestQuality’ next go to ‘Normal and cavity map’ and click ‘Flip Red channel’ after that click create normal map ©. It’s good when Your model have good uv-map, but with zbrush’s mapping your normal map should look OK inside blender as well, just don’t forget click ‘fix seams’ before export.

I use different method for normal, cavity and others maps, i just export hi and low poly model and i bake maps using xNormal, You can download and try it’s free, simple and really cool.

Thanks! Gradually coming to understand it now.

Hi.
I find free time to make render with soft reflections, I don’t finish map for that yet, so reflections looks strange in some head’s parts, I try do render with hairs tomorrow if time allow me for that.

and bigger one here http://xs136.xs.to/xs136/09081/hr280.jpg

That looks really nice! How many time to render that last image? Is it using raytracing?

Yeah i use raytracing. Render time was about 1 hour and 20 minutes in high res, and about 20 minutes for 2 passes with ray mirror, first one with gloss 88 and second one with gloss 65.

Those last couple of renders are stunning, that skin is as good as iv’e seen coming out of any rendering app.

…2 passes with ray mirror, first one with gloss 88 and second one with gloss 65

Why this? Can you show some example?

where are some manuals on these node setups?
