After seeing the horrible horrible scenes of victims in Gaza, one can’t help but feel ashamed and helpless…
Yes, yes. Victims are always worth of pity when they are covered in their own blood, rather than in their enemies blood. The faces and nationalities change from time to time, this time arabs, other jews, etiopians, indians, chinese… what doesn’t change is human’s thirst for war and power. This is shared by all races.
In the 33 years of my life I’ve seen muslims and jews fighting over lands and properties and I heard the mutual hatred goes back by many, many eras, perhaps all the way to Abraham sending his concubine and child to the desert. You know, I feel quite insensitive to the question by now. They’ve been killing each other by the thousands for many eras, we can only watch and shake our heads. Let them continue to do it, embarassing their God and their morals.

Great work Jassar. I see the image of someone strong (metaphor of people ?) rooted to the ground, whipped (umm violence against ?), with a key around the neck (key to peace ?) some branches growing of olive or some other peaceful symbol. The person is looking down, face covered again with the peace branches. The image doesn’t quite give an indication why the rooted person has been whipped so brutally, but the light suggests that there is light coming.

, I like your thinking. You are very close to the meaning of this pic. Olive trees are a symbol of strength ( they live up to 2000+ years ) and are well rooted on their land.
The key is a symbol to the right of ownership. My family actually has a real key that looks like the one in the pic ( the one for our home in the West Bank ).
The man in the pic is strong, growing and well rooted no matter how hard he is whipped

To add to the level of emotion I would’ve added some faint, wispy, ghost-like creatures/humans carried on the wind beating him down.
Also an arched back, with his shoulders and head held level, to show weakness of strength, but not of will. To me the downcast face comes across as self-pity, not controlled hatred.

The headscarf makes it perfectly clear what it is about… at least for me. The headline somehow steals me the opportunity to let the picture affect me.

A fight requires 2 fighting forces against each other, but what’s happening here is just man-slaughter. I hope my friends there are safe , I haven’t heard from them for a while

I certainly pity the victims, specially the 2000+ nearby the bombardings. But I heard most of the people killed were Hamas terrorists. Perhaps I’m just blindly following Israel lies and BS, but I seriously doubt they’d be aiming the general population of Gaza, unlike the Hamas missiles…

Don’t believe what you hear on the news, if you want I can show you some images that are cut from the media ( very scary and graphic though ) , most of the victims are just kids and women. They even blew up schools, mosques ( with people inside them ) and a university… funny thing is, no one was killed but innocent people.
507 killed in Gaza in 9 days, only 4 jews killed… Do the math ( don’t forget that hamas missiles don’t have fancy radar things like israely weapons… doh )
