My UV map is not showing up.

I’ve successfully unwrapped the simple mesh I’m working on and made a .tga that fits onto it, but then when I try to bring the .tga back into Blender on the UV image editor, it’s not showing up. I’m getting just black and white blocks.

Here’s what it looks like in Photoshop and then when I try to bring it into Blender:

I’m referencing this tutorial for basic UV mapping, and when I try to bring my map back into poser from Photoshop, it’s not fitting over the mesh.

I’m saving the image in .tga format, and I made sure it’s still the same size as the .tga I got when I unwrapped. Why is it squishing and warping my mesh like that and why is it getting huge when I try to import it?

I’m trying to learn basic UV mapping off of this tutorial http://biorust.com/index.php?page=tutorial_detail&tutid=85 and it’s telling me to go to UV>LSMC Unwrap, but I don’t see an obvious menu headed UV, so how do I get to this function?

It was folded in to edit mode. Just type U in edit mode and the Unwrap menu will pop up. LCSM is the default “unwrap.”

as far as the squishing is concerned try using a power of 2 image size like 512 X 512.

That’s fixed the squishing, but it’s still not giving me the picture. I’m just getting this weird blocky black and white thing.
