Is this using the default render settings with Eevee as the renderer? Then, you can improve the look by simply checking one setting.

Go to the render settings, then check the “raytracing” checkbox (“ambient occlusion” instead if you are in an older Blender version pre 4.2). This is going to add loads of volume and nice gradients to the shadows.
