I tried to go for a mystic feel.
The first picture is the main one, the second one is just to show more of the cave.
Oops, I just realised that I forgot to texture the purple stairs.

Dude, that’s pretty cool. I’m all for seeing more enviroments and settings and stuff.
Scarily, the first thing my mind thought was “Isn’t that one of those princess-holding crystal-mcguffins you’re looking for in the ol’ SNES Zelda?”
Actually, that is a great start. You know what my eye misses, though? More dirt. It’s an old cave, it shouldn’t look so sterile. All the textures are too even and crisp, you should try some dirt maps and variations. If you don’t want to just use procedural textures, blender v2.43 has some good tools for that stuff.
You know, When I was making it, I kept thinking about The legend of Zelda, and Final Fantasy!
dirt maps? I’ll look into those.
I didn’t know version 2.43 is out. Are there some new features that make it worth upgrading from my 2.42? If so How can I upgrade?
Um, if the fires orangey yellow shouldn’t the light be that color also?
Could also use more contrast and more atmospheric lighting effects.
I absolutely love that game and still play it a lot. Feels as fresh today as it did way back then.
Anyway, on topic, pretty good job, but it seems that some of the textures don’t really go well together in a few places, and some of the materials need some work particularly on the (i’m assuming) procedural carpet, pedestal, and gem. A little lighting, material, and rendering tweaks would improve it a lot, and there are some edges on some of the meshes that seem a bit too jagged. You should probably try smoothing out the edges on these, using whatever method you prefer (beveling + subsurf, subsurf + edgeloop, ect.) I seem to remember a really good resource for particle fire, but i don’t recall the web address. You might try googling for it.
Overall its nice, but if you just spent some more time tweaking it could have been a lot better. Just remember, practice makes perfect, so keep blendering!
