Myst News In Red
Yup, “Myst,” one of the best-selling PC games of all time, is becoming a mini-series. Good news: Finally, it gets a “movie,” and they don’t need any spooging!
Bad news: It’s being made by Sci-Fi. Egad. They have awful production values, and so far, their only decent original production is “Taken,” maybe. Also, they claim to have made “Hypercube,” and anybody that shameless deserves to be shot. Besides, they claimed it was “getting too expensive” to get the rights to new movies for “MST3k,” yet they give almost infinite money to crap like “The Invisible Man,” “First Wave,” “Tremors: The Series,” “The Outer Limits” (AAAHHHH!!!), and other such crap. Still, at least “Myst” is becoming a mini-series! Yay!
Next on the production list: “The Sims!” :Z (I couldn’t see how any other smilies would fit into that joke… maybe Sci-Fi will make a sci-fi films based on our Zorro smilie)

I like the story of myst however I was disapointed when I played it, I didn’t expect it to be a click and move game.
Hey, Cube at least they did Children of Dune well. The first Dune had crappy production values.
Hey Al, Myst doesn’t have to be a click-and-move game… try out RealMyst, that’s the realtime version they made a few years ago… it’s definetely worth looking into. I love the Myst series, but I draw the line at “Exile”. No good. Not made by cyan. Too complex for most computers. yuck. I’ve read the novels though, and I have one of the soundtracks. Anyone else here who likes myst as much as I do?
I have to say, though… I’m not especially excited about the mini-series… I’m tired of moviemakers not having any ideas of their own and using somebody elses’, and I probably won’t get to see it anyway (we only get 3 channels). Plus, I honestly doubt that they’ll do a good job.

for some reason i do not think that that is going to work. It could be good but i think that it will turn out really messed up.

d52477001, I have faith that the story will work only because Myst’s plot was thought out very well, unlike some video games. It does a good job of setting up a backstory (e.g., the spotted history of Sirrus and Achenar). I would see them taking some liberties, but if they changed the plot too much, every good Myst fan out there would complain SciFi out of business . So, here’s hoping!
