OK, we’re weird…we hereby declare the official elYsiun speed modelling day opened!
This night we (the people in the #blenderchat IRC channel on irc.freenode.net) decided it was time to give everyone a kick in the butt!
This is the time to show what you’re made off, this is the time to give everything you’ve got, this is the time for…Mythology.
That’s right, a 24 hour marathon to model anything from an elf to a unicorn, from Zeus to Athena, from Hercules…to elYsium.
it’s the ultimate weekend challenge…WHO NEEDS SLEEP!!!
Use this thread ONLY for posting entries! chatting can be done on the official contestchannel #Mythology on irc.freenode.net
Placeholders are allowed
when it was 21:30 here (middleeuropean summertime) and 10 hours left to deadline, i heard the first time that this contest takes place. Well it seems that i’ll have to have a look at elysiun more frequently
ii’ll post only one picture, it took me 3 hours to make it.

here it is:
(the olypmp with zeus, poseidon, hades-manager(BSDemon ), hermes and aphrodite)
I have no more time, otherwise I would add some more real stuff and a cape ( :o )
But this is it now:
It is a God in a temple eating fruit and being cooleddown by some girls.
And no more talking cause it is quarter past 12
She is a muse, and muses are the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne. They are known for the music of their song, which brings joy to any who hear it. There are nine Muses, each with her own specialty: Clio (History), Urania (Astronmy), Melpomene (Tragedy), Thalia (Comedy), Terpsichore (Dance), Calliope (Epic Poetry), Erato (Love Poetry), Polyhymnia (Songs to the Gods), Euterpe (Lyric Poetry).
Ok, well, here’s my submission.
This is the first time I have ever participated in one of these things… I’m rather excited.
Modeled and rendered in Blender. Small bit of post production done in the GIMP (mostly tweaking color and contrast). Oh, and incase you couldn’t tell: it’s a dragon.
Also, you should view the picture with a properly gamma corrected monitor, otherwise the image will appear too dark. I’ll post a gamma corrected one in a bit.
EDIT: I just realized that (I think) I missed the deadline. Oh well. At least I tried. Apparently I found out about the contest when it was only a few hours to the deadline anyway… timezones always confuse me.
Well, even though I missed the deadline, here’s the image for those of you without gamma corrected monitors:
