hey, this is my 24h modeling maddness mythology contest entry… it actually took only 10 hours [from skecthing oveer lunch to sleeping… and blending]

Very epic and detailed! There is some je ne sais quoi about the lighting that just sets everything off. The idea and setting seems supernatural, but the lighting is especially natural. And (perhaps in the words of Robin) holy flamin’ enchiladas, 10 hours? I am humbled.

How’d you get the ‘glow’ in the hightlights? A little discrete photoshopping, or a glow plugin, or something else?

the glow was made with glow plugin and some postprocessing… and no, Zweistein, it’s not rendered in Yafray [why even?].

very cool. I particularly like the tree. No doubt breugal or bosch would be similarly partial to it. I have been meaning to do a baobab tree. thanks for reminding me.

Anyways, what makes this even more amazing is that you did it in less than 24 hours. I wouldn’t be nearly as impressed (though I still would be impressed) if you had done this over the course of a week or so.
Great job. I’m tempted to use it as my desktop background.
