im a n00b when it comews to uv unwarping, so is there a way to make blander mark the area where the mesh is on the image?

Goto the Scripts Window, click Scripts >> UV >> Save UVFace Layout. Some people have had errors running it on 2.41 and Theeth has updated it. You’ll find past threads here with discussion about it and a link to the update.
