It’s been a while since I posted here, but I’ve still been browsing and playing around with Blender. I’ve started to try my hand at organic, but so far I suck at it
Anyway, here’s my first head that is (kinda) succesful.
Angry man:
PS: I don’t really care about it proportion-wise. Thanks for looking
I’m not quite sure what kind of response you wanted if you don’t care about proportions, so I’ll mention them briefly anyways.
For the back of the head, try and make it larger, and rounder. If you look at somebodies head, they rarely have a vertical plane from the back of the head to the middle of the neck. The ear space is a bit high, and too wide, check out ear shapes for the basic shape you want to block out. Look for Mr. Bombs video tutorial on modelling an ear (also his head modelling one is excellent) if you’re aiming at an ear.
The nose area looks a little odd in terms of topology, you have a pole just below and out from the eye, if you could eliminate that it would increase the flow (or at least relocate it).
Making the eyebrows stick out a little bit more to add emphasis may also be a good idea, as well as adjusting the eye shape to be angry (The upper inside of the eye should be flat as well as the rear bottom).
Aside from those issues, start adding in some major detail. Try UVMapping and texturing it, trying the new Sculpt mode in the Release Candidate (or use zBrush if you have it), or do any number of things.
Whichever you choose, good luck with it.

First off, thanks for the detailed response. I’m sorry I didn’t quite state what I was looking for in my post (I wrote a whole thing and it got deleted, so I kinda rushed it the second time around). I was mainly looking for tips on the edgeloops, how the flow was and where I should improve, although for future head models I will definately try to fix up the flaws you mentioned.
I’m going to take a look at Mr. Bombs head tutorial, as for the ear, I’ve found a pretty good one at highend 3d: http://http://www.highend3d.com/maya/tutorials/modeling/polygon/Realistic-Ear-Modelling-242.html (although it’s for maya it worked fine for me).
As for the part about more detail, I will do that once I feel I have a good enough edge flow to work with.
Thanks for the detailed explanation:D

Sorry for double posting, but I have a new head would like to show. This time I’m just trying to see how my edgeloops are without using blueprints as a guide. I still have a couple problems I need to fix though: I’m not sure if I should keep the extra bump under the eye or it should be deleted, I also need to fix the nose up quite a bit.
It obviously needs alot tweakng and fixing (not to mention doing the rest of the head:p ), but I would appreciate any comments on how I’m doing so far. Thanks for looking:D
