Names of things aligned strangely

I use blender on laptop and have relatively small screen/working space, so many times name boxes of things in the interface are small. When the name does not fit in the name box, the name is shown from middle of the name. Like in picture below, name of the object is “painting_06” and you see “inting_06”.


When I squish the area more, I see that names are aligned to the end of the name and to the right end of the name box. I think it would be logical to always see the beginning of the name. It’s hard to remember names of things if you just see some part from middle of the name.

Anyone else finding this strange?

I am really newbie to report anything, so I hope this is right place to talk?

And because this is not really a bug, what is the right way to notify developers?

I think this is a feature. In your example, I guess that there are also the Materials

Painting_02
Painting_03
.
.
.
Painting_06

If the names would be aligned to the beginning, you would only see:

Painti
Painti
Painti
Painti
Painti
Painti

This is not a big help to find your material. In most cases the names are different at the end. So it is a good idea to show the end of the names.

You are right, I didn’t thought it that way.

Gotta make bigger scenes with more of things to use this feature : )
