Naming objects

I know this question has more than likely been asked before, but I did a few searches and got 0 results. How do I name the objects in Blender?

There are a number of ways you can rename objects in blender 2.49.
In an Outliner window Ctrl click on an object to rename
Select an object and in the Transform Properties panel (N) change the OB name
In the Editing panels (F9) in the Links and Materials panel change the OB name
In the Object panels (F7) in the Object and Links panel change the OB name

Thanks so much! I actually just hit (N) on my own for the hell of it thinking, “It can’t be that obvious, could it?”
But I didn’t know about the other ones. So, I will make a note of it in my journal! Thanks again!
