Naming parts of animations?


is it possible to give certain parts of a character-animation different names? Like for example: frame 1-20 walk, frame 21-40 idle, 41-60 talk and so on?

The game engine I work with needs this information, so I would have to expand an exporter to to export those names, too, otherwise I would have to create single files for every animationset. So, is there any possibility to name the different sets?

You can do the Walk as one Action, Idle as another Action and Talk as a third Action. Each of these can be added to the NLA Editor as Strips which you can then blend-in and blend-out, duplicate or loop.

Not sure whether your Exporter could read NLA strips but reading Actions is very possible.
