How would I accomplish having an object look like its being “eaten” by nanobots?

hmm…what does an object getting eaten by nanobots look like? got any reference video?
just not sure what the effect is that you are going for…

Clip from near the end of “The Day The Earth Stood Still (2008)” (movie starts at position where the nano’s start destroying stuff.) I’ll find a better clip if you need me to.

Try searching for python scripts like “crumple” or “decimate”
