native american mask

part of a series I am starting (along w/others…).
Was wondering if I could get your opinion on the head dress part. It is usually made of cedar.
Here is a link w/a reference picture.
What would be the best way w/textures to make it look like long strands of cedar pulp/wood? or should I just sculpt it?

And here is a link of the wip w/an embedded webGL component.

Looks pretty good. Is it Haida?

Hello Modron.
Thank you, still a lot of details and texture missings so hopefully it’ll look even better in the end.
It is not Haida, for reference I am using pretty much the work of all the nw tribes from british columbia on down the north west. Not specific to anyone tribe so far.
