Navigation on Linux Fedora. Alt + LMB not working?

Hi,

I’m trying to use Blender on Fedora but the Alt+LMB/Click navigation doesn’t work.
I know its a Fedora quirk since the same navigation bind key works on Ubuntu (and of course works on Windows and Mac).

Did a search and Blender users suggest modifying Blender hotkey. I cannot. Since the Alt + LMB navigation on 3d software is universal. It’s the same for Houdini. Maya. Cinema4D. etc.

I tried searching for Fedora shortcut keys but it does not seem to appear on the settings.

How do I override the Fedora reserve keys with the currently app I am opening?

To disable Alt drag you need to install gnome-tweaks.
Either searh for Tweaks in Fedora software center, or install it with dnf

> sudo dnf install gnome-tweaks

In tweaks there’s a ‘Windows’ tab where you can change the Window Action Key to Super or disable it altogether.

Thanks for the response.

But the thing is in the new gnome version, the windows moving is already default to super instead of alt, unlike before.

Anyhow, for good measure, I just checked it now by installing Gnome Tweaks. Modified it to Super from Super (the default) and I still get the same problem.

That said, I have a new findings. When I navigate it, which is essentially dragging, it is simulating a drag copy paste behavior by the white box present in the screen.

Is there a way for Fedora/Linux System to disable that for Blender?

Okay. I found the issue.
It’s so trivial.

I forgot the reddit thread (because it was a rabbit hole) but there was an existing bug of VMWare on Fedora where it inadvertedly detects LMB Drag as a drag and drop to a different window.

That’s what is happening above.

I tried installing the Fedora as a separate boot install (rather than an emulation) and Blender navigation now works as expected.
