Hey this is my current project (Playstation 2). I’m new to blender and i want to download a renderer that can give me high quality images like the ones you guys get, so please throw in recommendations…
You can just learn lighting techniques in blender or you could do a search for yablex and yafray. YableX is a script that takes your blender scene and exports it. Yafray is a fast raytracer (renderer).
would be no problem to make it look cool in blender. no need for external renderers.

I agree with @ndy, you can probably make this look just great in the built-in scanline renderer.
If you want raytracing, I would also recommend the POV-anim script (by jms) and POVray.

From the research I have been doing, it would seem one’s abilities in texturing / lighting are just as important as the renderer. Additionally I have seen some pretty impressive things done with the Blender renderer. So perhaps changing the renderer won’t provide the better results you are looking for.
Personally, I am not going to worry about a better renderer until my skills are to a point where the Blender renderer is actually limiting my output more than my own lack of knowledge. And I have a ways to go before I get to that point.
My two cents…
Yea i get your point but if you look at the image you can see that the edges of the meshes are not smooth and the whole thing doesn’t look too nice :x . Thats why i asked for a different renderer. Is there any way i can get to smoothen the image in blender itself?
Yeah, go to the Display Buttons (F10), select ‘OSA’ and a number (for final rendering ‘16’, else, hm, depends on your machine’s power).
As you learn more about Blender and 3D art in general, I think you’ll find that you can push Blenders native renderer around quite abit and get VERY nice results. Just look at ANY of @ndy’s or BgDm’s work
