Hi, I need some advice as to the best way to create a simulation of the image below. The auger/corkscrew pieces need to be attached at the top of the unit, then I need to show a fluids going from left to right. The fluids need to turn the auger. Then I need to make the fluids go from right to left and do the same thing, turn the auger.
Also, it might help to demonstrate the process if a dye of some sort were to flow through the liquid to show the movement of the augers.
I am not sure exactly how to go about making this so any suggestions examples etc. would be appreciated.
Does it need to be a simulation or can you trick some?
If it needs to be Simulation, forget Blender. Look at Realflow for example. (Not sure though if it is able to simulate everything, but much more than Blender anyway
Thanks. Do you know of an example that I could see of fluid particles for “ink’ in the water to see how realistic this will look?
Thanks Bashi, I can probably trick some but I need to show the fluid reacting with the augers, so I need the fluid to be churning or twisting when it flows around the augers which will b turning too. Don’t have money for realflow at this time, but curious, will realflow work inside of Blender with Blender objects and forces?
Realflow is an app on it’s own, you can export .obj from Blender and import to Realflow. And yes, it’s waaay expensive, but powerful.
I would try not to use Fluid Sim at all. I don’t think you get anyway near usable in reasonable time… (maybe i’m wrong though
I would try using Particles and some Force Fields - since you don’t really see the fluid itself anyway - but the Stuff floating around in it.
Here is a sample of what I was thinking. This is with too over cranked motion blur, and one could probably add a turbulence field and find a better shader.
