Need advice on where to start with modeling these objects

I have some vehicles that I want to model, these in particular:


I’ve had some trouble starting these. I try to start modeling by moving vertices around, but I find that difficult to replicate the shape properly (take the bottom left object for example, the “Spectre”). Even though these objects are metal and whatnot, should I start the initial model via hard-surface modeling (moving verts around), or organic modeling (sculpting from a ball)? The objects themselves have very smooth shapes combined with hard edges, so I get a bit lost on how to start.

I’m still pretty novice when it comes to this, so any guidance would be appreciated.

Ah, peak Covenant design ! I’ve never attempted them myself, but know there are existing low def models ripped from the games that you can use as basis/reference. Either use those, or draw references from front/side/top first. Then I would use traditional poly modeling.
