Need assistance duplicating an animation.

Hello fellow blenders and such… I came across the game Drakengard years ago and a clip from the game always got me. Id like to see how (if possible) we can recreate this scene. I love how it looks and wondered how they made it, from the clouds to the special effects.

Here is the clip. Its the only one i could find on youtube, and 240p is quite low res but its a good enough to see what i mean.

I am not sure how long it would take, but I am sure it could be done. Are you going to try to make any changes?

no, but how the clouds move when the projectile moves through it is very real, for being a game made back in the day. i just love how its so…explosive? idk how to put it. the energy you feel when seeing the nuke-like things go off. maybe the sounds help a lot as well. i might even pay if volunteers help enough out. most knowledge helpers know is from tutorials but some stuff is from lots of practice, thats the stuff id pay for. when someone can teach me stuff that cant be taught in tuts.

i understand most of it is from lots of experimenting and tests…and trials. but if someone can help me skip that part, and help teach me id absolutely appreciate it and probably pay for it too.

The projectile coming through the clouds would be fairly simple to create, using a smoke simulation, some extra particles and a obstacle. The soldiers are all just copies of each other and blender has the capability to desegregate geometry. All these things are all found on blenderguru, Blendtuts, and youtube. They may be basic tutorials but they all generally work with what you are trying to do. I would love to help but I am short on time and would only be able to help with the simulations and animation.

wow sorry for such a late reply but thanks for the info. but i wonder how i will do the composting. the explosions would have to be made on a separate layer right?
