Need assistance with .blend file associations please.

Ok I’m trying to set 2.27 as the default app. for all my .blends.
This should happen if I check “Open .blend files with Blender 2.27” in the Installation Options window right? But It doesn’t for some reason.

I’ve tried changing the file asociation using “Open With” and selecting “Blender” in the 2.27 folder. This only half works. The files open with errors “Blender languages not found” and the interface srcews up. My files were previously assigned to 2.26 and opened without a hitch.

I’m using Windows XP Pro. All my programs are in one partition of my HD and the data files in another, if that makes any difference. I’ve done clean reinstalls and the whole bit. Has anyone had this problem before? I sure would appreciate you advice.

in the 2.27 folder, you should see a .blender folder and two DLLs (gnu_gettext.dll and python22.dll) and copy them into DriveLetter:\Documents and Settings<b>username\Application Data\Not a Number\Blender
Or, from a My Computer window, choose Folder Options in the Tools menu, than switch to the File Types tab, browse down to .blend and play with those.
