Need help connecting box modelled torso and feet

I’ve been looking for hours for some solution to this problem:

I have modelled a torso with arms and legs out of a single box, I have modelled feet out of a second box, I’m am trying to stich them together using the FKEY to make faces between these objects, but I run into this problem:

I cannot select vertices, faces or edges on more than one object… and I have no idea why. :frowning:

I’m hoping there is a simple solution to this problem. Please let me know if I’m missing something or if there is some problem with the version of Blender I’m using (2.49b windows).

Many thanks.

Select both objects (use shift to multiple select) and use Ctrl+J to join the meshes.

Richard

Thanks for the offer of help, Richard, but this is not what I’m after unfortunately.

I’m trying to create the surfaces between the objects by selecting corresponding vertices on each object, and create a quad between them.

Any help?

To do what you want, objects must be merged. So just follow Richard’s advice, then in edit mode (TAB) manually create faces: select 2 edges (shift+RMB) and press F.

Thank you both so much. Richard, I’m sorry to have misunderstood  Cheers!
