Need help getting pony tail braid moving

This is my first blender project. I’ve hit a wall and I don’t know what to do. I’ve been trying to get this ponytail to move like it would if in life. right now the hair moves with the skull but its stiff. When I do hair dynamics it falls apart. My goal is to have the hair move from the base of the skull down and have the bead and strings in the hair move with it together. I’m hoping someone can guide me down the right path. I’ve included the file here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZUEp-HHGxLuOK75B8UCFUtLvA1hVIdO-/view?usp=sharing

Welcome to BA  there’s an add-on that works well for this:

I don’t think you’re going to be able to get good hair dynamics physics on this-- it’s not going to respect self-collision, and if it did that would be a performance nightmare, so it’s not going to stay knotted or twisted.

For some kind of physics on it, I would try converting it to mesh (which can sometimes be a bit of a pain with hair, it ends up making strings of vertices for strands that then need to be filled out with mesh) so that I could either weight it to bones or use a surface or mesh deform modifier on it. I’d probably go with the mesh deform, and then give some physics to my mesh deformer.
