Need help with a 3D animation project based on Jean Racine’s work

Hello everyone,

I’m working on an exciting project that requires 3D animation skills. The project involves creating an animation trailer based on the work of Jean Racine, with several detailed scenes. I have already written the entire script with the exchanges of the characters and their descriptions. Unfortunately, I don’t have the necessary skills to carry out this project myself.

I’m looking for people who would be interested in working on this project voluntarily. This could be a great opportunity to enrich your portfolio and gain experience on a complex project.

Here are the details of the project:

The trailer includes several detailed scenes, ranging from urban landscapes to intimate scenes between characters. The main characters are Hippolyte, Théramène, Aricie, Phèdre, and Thésée. The trailer includes dialogues, flashbacks, combat scenes, and dramatic moments.

Here is a detailed description of the scenes:

  • Opening: The camera slowly moves towards a palace in the distance. An urban landscape extends as far as the eye can see, with houses and buildings from ancient Greece. In the center, a majestic palace stands on a hill, with white columns and adorned pediments. The sky is clear with a few scattered clouds. The wind blows, making the leaves of the trees and sand in the landscape fly.
  • Scene 1: The camera dives into the building (on a balcony) and shows Hippolyte who sighs in the presence of Théramène at his side. Hippolyte and Théramène stand on a balcony overlooking the sea. The balcony is white and adorned with Doric columns. Hippolyte has a serious and determined expression on his face with a distant look towards the sea (he turns around when he starts to speak). Next to him, Théramène seems worried. His eyebrows are furrowed and he distractedly plays a silver lyre. You can hear the sound of waves and seagulls.
  • Scene 2: Flashback to Thésée’s fights. The fight scenes take place in various places, such as a dense forest with bushy trees and lush vegetation, a dark and scary labyrinth with cold and damp stone walls, and a deserted island with fine golden sand under a merciless sun.
  • Scene 3: We return to the palace balcony, where Théramène responds to Hippolyte.
  • Scene 4: We are now in an inner courtyard of the palace, where Aricie and Hippolyte share a tender moment sitting on a bench under an olive tree. They look into each other’s eyes; their faces express love and tenderness. Clear blue sky.
  • Scene 5: Phèdre is lying down and leaning on her elbow on a triclinium in a dark room of the palace. A few rays of sunlight manage to pass through the window and the transparent veil curtain and barely light up the room. Phèdre is weak and has a pale face and a tormented expression on her face.
  • Scene 6: The scene changes to show Phèdre talking to Œnone in a garden with blazing sun.
  • Scene 7: The scene changes to show Œnone talking to Phèdre in a room of the palace. The room is lit by torches fixed to the walls.
  • Scene 8: Hippolyte and Aricie sharing another tender moment on an isolated beach bathed in moonlight. The beach is deserted, with fine white sand under a starry sky. The sound of waves gently breaking on the shore.
  • Scene 9: Thésée returning to the palace accompanied by soldiers. The sky is covered with threatening clouds, heralding an imminent storm. He looks tired but determined. They enter the palace; it is lit by torches creating a dramatic atmosphere.
  • Scene 10: Hippolyte and Thésée are in conflict at the edge of a cliff surrounded by statues of gods and heroes watching the scene from their pedestals (weather: dark clouds). The expression on their faces is tense and angry. A fight breaks out: When Thésée says “silence”, he draws his sword and attacks Hippolyte. During the mini fight, Thésée has the upper hand and Hippolyte struggles against his father’s brute force. Thésée gives violent repeated blows so much so that Hippolyte is on his knees and forced to defend his sword horizontally with his left hand on the blade (he bleeds). Suddenly, Thésée smashes him with a violent kick that makes him fall violently down a slope of small pebbles from the cliff. His sword falls into the sea. Hippolyte crawls clinging to pebbles so as not to fall into the sea. And he screams: I hate you… Afterward, there’s Thésée who stands at the top of the slope who yells at him: You were my son Hippolyte… then Thésée leaves
  • Scene 11: Aricie and Hippolyte share a tender moment in a flowered garden of the palace, surrounded by lush plants and colorful flowers. They stand against each other with a sunset in the background. And they hug each other…
  • Scene 12: Hippolyte and Phèdre The scene changes to show Hippolyte and Phèdre crossing glances in the palace. (Phèdre remains frozen and turns all red) (Hippolyte, annoyed clenches his fists): He speaks in his head: I am caught in a web…” (He advances and unclenches his fists at the same time) He says: “And I fear that the truth will destroy us ALL.” (it’s daytime)
  • Scene 13: Phèdre is alone in her room, sitting near the open window. She looks into the distance with a lost expression. The background noise is that of a silent room, highlighting her solitude. (it’s daytime with wind but without sun).
  • Scene 14: Thésée and Œnone. Thésée is sitting on his throne in the presence of Œnone. He looks downcast and helpless. The throne room is grandiose, with marble columns and frescoes on the walls. (it’s clear)
  • Scene 15: Phèdre and Thésée. Phèdre, on her knees, speaks to Thésée who is back, under the rain with lightning in the background. Their clothes are soaked and their hair sticks to their faces.
  • Closing The trailer The trailer ends on a wide shot of the palace under a stormy sky. The palace seems almost sinister under the gray light; marble statues silently watch the scene.
