Hi, I’ve modeled a small teddy bear. Now I’ve used the hair particle system, but I cannot get it to look teddy-bear-like. It now looks like a wet spunge… Any tips?

You should try giving it multiple particle systems, on short and curly and one a bit longer with more directional growth/grooming. Or even 3.
