Need help with fluid simulation

I have a wine glass and I’m trying to make water drop into it but every time almost all the water goes through it and only a little bit stays. I have the glass as an obstacle the small cube as liquid and the big cube as a domain but it still doesn’t work properly. Can anyone tell me what to do to fix this? Thanks a lot.

can you post your .blend file? that would help

Hello. One possibility is that you have the domain resolution set to low. To detect such a thin walled obstacle the domain resolution would have to be set quite high.

I tried putting the resolution higher but it didn’t do anything. Here is the .blend. Bake it ad you can see it’s not working properly and almost all of it falls out. If someone could take a look and tell me how to fix it that would be awesome.

It worked when I changed the resolution to 160 AND make the glass slightly thicker. So A’nW was correct.

you could also (i’ve seen that trick in a houdini tutorial) make a thick obstacle that is invisible to the renderer

I had only upped the resolution to 100 and I didn’t think of making it even higher. But it works now. So thank you to A’nW and you for helping me

Your welcome. Glad I could help. Sorry for the late reply.
