Need help with rig

Hi. I’m attempting to create my own rig in blender using curves as the controller. I’m having trouble with the ik controller as it won’t maintain position if I rotate a parent controller. I’ve set the Ik bone to move based on the controllers world position however it still won’t work.

It works perfectly fine except when I want to rotate the parent root.

Was wondering if anyone had any solutions. Thank You.

The arms are rigged this way to separate from the main mesh as I have plans on having him take off his arms as a weapon.
