$$$$$ Need HELP with simple 3D box today!!! $$$$$

Hi there,

I need to get some help with a box I am trying to make. What I am trying to accomplish is a tea box that has a tappered waist or mid-section, something that allows me to put a tape measure around it like it has lost weight.

Someone kinda helped me but I need a little further help with this today, its need to go to print this afternoon. Here is the link of what someone helped me with, but I need the box to have smooth transitions in that mid-section. http://www.cs.umn.edu/~mein/blender/tea.blend

Anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated. I could pay a little for this help and its something I think anyone with a decent knowledge of Blender could do in about 5 minutes (which is not me).

PLEASE HELP!!!

You’re attempting to comform a distorted image to an unlike mesh. The result is that the image will be even more skewed.

Can you take a head-on product image and map it planar to the front surface? An alpha mask can easily take care of the invisible areas (in other words, the shape of the box).

I think the problem you’re running into is a fairly low res and already distorted image is trying to be “corrected” by the UV mapping and that’s not working out.

Also, unless there’s a specific reason, try snapping your verts and don’t smooth a whole mesh unless it needs to be. For a simple shape like this, you don’t need smoothing.

Is this what you mean?

This is so close. Can you email me some contact info? I would like to discuss a few more things with you on this - I am in a bind on this one and anything helps my progress.

P,

do you still need it done cause i could whip it up in a half an hour using nurb surfaces…

if not then ill do it for some fun.

You posted twice the same message, this is not good. (and I won’t comment on the post title)
