Need help with topology for Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Hi,

I recently started 3D modeling a Porsche 911 GT3 RS. While doing the side (right in front of the doors, behind the wheel vents) I came upon this part where my topology doesn’t seem to be right. You can see my best try in the picture below, but I could really use some suggestions about how you guys would do this part of the model.

There are tonnes of car modelling tutorials over on youtube - this one is close enough… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_qiE07sfF8

In general the trick is to block out and then do another pass over it to add detail where needed. I think your going straight to the detail step which has led the weird flow.

Check out this video too… Itll give you a clue for the basic shape you can build on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMlNNj4eZiE

It’s worth watching videos for other 3d apps as well, since its more about technique then the tools.

Thanks! I’ll check them out.

There is an awesome tutorial ($) from Chris on this topic, but even from the free videos on his YT channel you can learn a lot.
