Not sure what I am doing wrong, but the viewport distorts everything quite heavily when viewed at the edges. Been working with a bunch of 3d apps like C4d, Maya Modo and never seen something like this. What looks like an oblong egg in the image below is actually a perfect sphere. I suspect that there is a simple camera setting that can fix this fish eye rendering, but not sure where to find it. TIA :]
What’s your viewport lens angle set to?
The default is 35. But like one or two other people I find this a bit too strong. I usually opt for 50 or thereabouts. It’s found on the properties panel of the viewport. Hot key N.

I have mine set at 62mm, but it’s really a matter of preference – what’s most comfortable for you.
Thanks - adjusting the camera certainly helps. A bit. I had just never seen distortion to this degree in Maya or other apps l and find it extremely distracting. Even with a setting of 62. I guess there is a case to be made for this to be “physically more correct”, but I got used to seeing things a certain way. Especially in larger scenes everything not in center view is stretched so far, it begs my brain to go and correct my meshes :] BTW, Maya also defaults to a focal length of 35mm, but it seems it uses a wider center point or something. Thanks!
