i need a knife tool, which i used in cinema4d.
It makes new vertexes.
seconde, i need a “add vertex point” tool.
For example: Triangle => Tool => 2d cube
I hope i have explained me good enought.

Press K?
STRG K ;), i think.
Ehm, but it makes triangles. can i add only a “point” in a vertex?
I leraned in Cinema, that 4edges are better than 3 edges. (i make the triangles when the projekt ist finished).

Oh, sry. English: CTRL
Does someone know if a features like “add a ‘edgepoint’ to vertize” is included in blender?
Dennis
PS: STRG = Steuerung
CTRL = Control (?)
If you use the “Kinfe Exact” you get triangles often but I have found that if you cut in a complete loop with the “Knife Exact” or use the “Face Loop Cut” which essentially cuts the faces in a loop, you won’t get the triangles.
As far as I know you can’t just “add” a vertex somewhere because that vertex has to be attached two other vertices and that creates a line a triangle, but if the cut goes all the way through the face, then it can create a line through the face and create two quad face, which is what you want.
That is, you can’t just have an extra vertex in the middle of a line, it has to be attached to something, if you think about it makes sense.
I really can’t help you too much though, today is only my third day using Blender and I have never done ANY 3D modeling until now so I don’t know much yet, but I can tell you what I have expeirinced thus far with the knife tool, and that is what I have done.

If you delete any faces that use the edge, when you use the K knife tool it will not make triangles. It will just add a vertex to the edge.
