Hi, I’m making an animation in blender and I have several objects which all have UV textures, objects consisting of a character and various pieces of the world surrounding him (trees, grass ect.) I currently cannot see the textures in 3D view and I need to, but the thing is I need to find a way of seeing the UV textures on one specific object and thats all, I cannot switch on textured solid (Alt+z) because this applies all UV textures to every object and this causes my computer to lag, making it very hard to animate. I just need to find a way to see the UV textures in 3D view on the character object and leave the world around him as it is.
How about putting the character on his own layer, and the lights and cameras on their own layer (even temporarily). When you want to work on the character, hide all the layers except the ones with the character and lights and cameras. As you write, this would apply all UV textures to every object, but the hidden ones on layers that are inactive would not render seen in he 3D viewport and so would not slow your computer. If you need to see the textures on different combinations of objects, you can have multiple viewports with different sets of layers selected as active, defining these viewports as new screen layouts if needed.

Alright, thanks so much
You can also press the “/” on the number pad to ‘solo’ the selected object. Press it again to return to normal view.
Awesome thx a lot
