Hello all, I’m having a problem, and I thought you may help me…
I’ve got a Seagate NAS 110 2TB, and a MacBook Pro 13" with OS X 10.6.8.
I just changed the name of my NAS, and I can’t access it anymore. Strange thing is, my brother using Windows XP can access the NAS easily. My dual-booted Windows 7 can do so too. But on Mac no success. I can still use Time Machine, but my shares disappeared. Before I changed the name, I had two locations of the NAS: A BA_something and BA_something_Backup. Now I only got one left, with the name I’ve given it. Do you know how to access my shares again?
Does it show up in Disk Utility ? If it does does repair disk help
No, the disk isn’t broken, my brother can still access it without any problems…
Repair disk / repair permissions are options in Disk Utility. Its not a hardware repair it is a software repair for OSX, nothing to do with what happens on windows.
If you can’t mount in Disk Utility these may help
If I can’t access it at all, it’ll be hard to repair permissions…
Finally got it: Finder -> Go to -> Connect to Server
Connected to it, path was: “smb://AppTuxDisk”, and selected the share.
After that I added the path to my Finder sidebar, and right now am I able to connect to it…
