Need some help

hey, I need to know how to model these gills on my shark. Thanks in advance!

I would show you my shark. I need to put these on but apparently, this is my first post so I can only post 1 image?
(also i barely do grammar so this probably makes no sense)

Looks sculpted! Is that your model, or your reference?
Also depends on what you want to do with the model. Just for posing for stills? Animation? 3d printing? Texturing practice?

animation heres my model

I’d start with a four-point mesh, subdiv, screw for extrude, and lattice for the taper.
Could also do two points, screw for extrude, and lattice for shape. That would give you easier control for shape-key in the future. When you have it all set, apply modifiers, join, and stitch.

what do you mean by “stitch” and apply modifiers what ones

wait so you’re saying you want me to make a plane (because it has 4 points) then subdivide it once and do a screw modifier then do some thing called a lattice not sure what that is like some description then join it on the side of my shark and make little stitch marks in sculpt mode?

You can sculpt it on, or carve out thin areas of the geometry and extrude them in to make it look like it has gills. Really you just need to alter the geometry to have the thin angled look of gills.
