Need to extrude but not at an angle

Can someone check out this model? I want it to extrude out for a bowtie but the part I want to extrude comes down from an angle because of the way I modeled it. I will be more cautious of things like this in the future but is there a way to change it now w/o completely remodeling so that it comes out horizontally?

I put a uv sphere in front of where the two faces are.

If you want it extruded along the Y axis press E / Y to constrain the extrude to the Y axis. Or you could press E then Esc to stop the extrude. You can then use G to drap the extruded face to wherever you want.

I see you are doing this model without applying a Mirror Modifier. Is that correct? (if so I encourage to use it for ease).
Since the bowtie is at his center and below his “chin”, and you don’t want to redo the model from the scratch, I can suggest to add a new Cube with 3 vertical divisions like this (CTRL + R then scroll up the mouse wheel until you see 3 pink lines):

And to move and scale the faces until it adquires the bowtie shape you want (below an example but probably it is not close to how it looks like on the cartoon):

Keep it up :eyebrowlift:

I had a quick look at your .Blend File, one thing i would say is to make sure to delete the faces ‘inside’ the model. ‘Remove Doubles’ will help, the ‘W’ Key gives you access to it. Or else delete them manually in face select mode.

Good work Keep it up
